Worship Philosophy

My Philosophy

1. Worship is focused on (or directed toward) God; it is not focused on us. (He not we)

2. Worship is Communal and Intergenerational. In worship, women and men, children and adults, recount the shared salvation of man through Jesus Christ.

3. Worship is participatory; it is not simply a performance of one or a few.

4. Worship is whole-hearted. You cannot sing praises unless you are backing up what you are doing in public in your private worship as well. The outward reflects the inward.

5. Worship is expectant. If we humble ourselves before the Lord and gather surrendered, we can experience the presence during worship.

6. Popular Music at the beggining of a service serves as a bridge for the non-believer to be welcomed into the room, and break down the barriers they may have had coming in.
